How to Choose a Color Palette

Choosing a color palette gets easier with one rule: start from a single anchor color you love, then build around it. Add a complementary color (opposite on the color wheel) for energy, or analogous colors (neighbours on the wheel) for calm.

Then apply the 60-30-10 rule — 60% a dominant neutral, 30% a supporting color, 10% an accent. Finally, check contrast: text colors need to stand clearly against their background. The palettes below show this balance in action — each one is a ready-made 4-color scheme with exact hex codes.
